German origin, born in 1837. Probably his parents were Ernst and Ether Kapp. Ernst Kapp was the
leader of the farmers in Sisterdale. Antone, Julia, Hedevey and
Wolfgang were his brothers and sisters. Federal Census of Comal County Texas of 1950. Prior to the Civil War Kapp worked for Colt. He was engaged as private in the 209th Pennsylvania Volunteers, Company I, musterd on August 29, 1864 and mustered out on May 21, 1865 .44 caliber percussion, 7 3/4" round barrel, Dragoon Army Revolver, overall lenght 14", weight 4 lbs., made in 1862. It is believed that only six were manufactured which combined features of Colt, Remington, Smith & Wesson and ROgers and Spencer. Only one is known today which was sold in 2016 for $ 253,000.
